5 ChatGPT prompts to level up your resume in minutes

Good morning and happy Saturday friends!

I don’t know about you but this week was a LONG one for me.

So I am certainly looking forward to unplugging a bit for a couple of days.

For all the weekend-warriors out there, here are a few tips that are going to save a ton of time and get some amazing wins for your resume.

Most people have heard of ChatGPT by now, a revolutionary new AI model that is open for anyone to use.

If you haven’t used it yet, this is going to be a game changer for you.

Before we begin, create a ChatGPT account for free here.

How to use this email:

For each of the prompts below, copy and paste the prompt into ChatGPT and replace the job title and any other variables needed.

Prompt #1: Write a Professional Summary

Follow a winning format for your professional summary.

Use it on LinkedIn, on your resume, and even when you meet people for the first time at an event.

Prompt #2: Quantified Achievements

Having problems trying to quantify achievements for your resume?

This is especially useful if you haven’t been great about tracking your achievements, or you don’t remember them. It will get your gears turning.

Copy paste the following into ChatGPT and replace with your job title.

Job Title: [INSERT YOUR JOB TITLE]
Use the instructions below to create 10 quantified achievements for a resume.

“Accomplished [X] as measured by [Y], by doing [Z].” Start with your accomplishment (don't forget to include an action verb before your achievement), add the qualitative evidence of your result (numbers and facts), and don't forget to add the skills you used to achieve.
Don't use the words "as measured by"
Repeat for each of the job titles below and the metrics associated with them:

Prompt #3: Important Industry Keywords

Are you trying to break into a new job? A new industry?

Quickly learn some of the terms you should familiarize yourself with.

What are 25 important industry keywords in [INSERT YOUR FIELD/INDUSTRY NAME] and a brief definition of each.

Prompt #4: Specific Tools and Software

Did you list all of the specific software tools you use on your resume yet?

If not, here’s a good reminder of what those likely are.

What are 25 critical tools someone in the [INSERT YOUR FIELD/INDUSTRY NAME] would need to be able to use?

Prompt #5: Job Specific Interview Questions

This one will be a game changer for your interview prep.

Get ChatGPT to give you industry-specific questions, answer strategies, and sample answers.

Job Title: [INSERT YOUR JOB TITLE]

Write a list of 10 interview questions, with a strategy for how to answer each of them, and an example answer for each.
